Product description

These deep red LEDs on a Star-PCB are particularly favorable for plant breeding by their wavelength of about 650nm. Studies show that plant growth is most effective at deep red light (650nm~660nm) and royal blue light (440nm~450nm). Photosynthesis is most effectively activated or increased at about 650nm ~ 660nm. The combination with royal blue light stimulates the flower and leaf growth. This deep-red LED with its correct range of wavelength is therefore much better suitable for the plant lighting as standard red LEDs with 625nm. The deep-red light of 650nm is near the chlorophyll(a) peak sensitive point of the plants and contributes to plant photosynthesis. A combination of deep-red with royal-blue light stimulates the flower growth. We do recommend a combination with 450nm LEDs (2:1 ratio red/blue) and a 700mA constant current driver as power source.
